Today, I Felt Small
a poem I dreamt about while watering my plants
Dear Wildflowers,
I hope spring has met you with newfound warmth on your skin, a world engulfed in green, and quiet places to pause and rest in-between all the blooming things. <3

Today, I Felt Small I want to feel small in the best ways, as if the earth could swallow me up. I want to crane my neck into the face of a sunflower and find my own intricacies reflected back to me. I want to wrap both arms around a mighty oak and sink into the sweetness of staying. I want to rest atop the mossy boulders, my skin pressed against their warm, sunbathed backs. I want to hear the spring singing in my ear and float in the feeling that we are always going somewhere, even when we aren't moving at all. I want to feel small in the best ways, as if the earth could swallow me up. I have cared for these flowers since they were mere sprouts; I have watched them find room to bloom. Together, we are growing and growing and growing. - Taylor Blayse
